About Aphasia SA

Aphasia SA has been proudly supporting South Australians living with Aphasia since 1999. From 1999 until 2020 Aphasia SA was called Talkback Association for Aphasia Incorporated. Aphasia SA continues with the same values and purpose as Talkback Association for Aphasia Incorporated. 

Aphasia SA is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity. It is the main community agency in South Australia for people with aphasia, their families and health professionals.


Aphasia SA purpose:

  • To support South Australians with aphasia
  • Provide support, information and advice on aphasia and living with aphasia
  • Encourage conversation and social opportunities through a network of Talkback Groups and social events
  • Increase community awareness about aphasia and the needs of people with aphasia
  • Fundraising to support new projects and resources
  • Work with health professionals to increase their understanding of aphasia
  • Offer educational opportunities about aphasia
  • Encourage research through links with universities
